Starfish 8 Sea Fishing Charter Boat

About the Sea Fishing available

Aboard

from the RIVER CROUCH, Wallasea, Essex.

White Marlin can offer various forms of Sea Fishing, from light tackle river sport to heavier rig deep sea fishing.

The boat is moored at Wallasea (Essex) Marina and we steam out to local marks in the River Crouch, Thames Estuary and the North Sea.

(No offence but we keep the exact details of the best marks we fish to ourselves)

The Fish we are after

Bass, Mullet, Flounder, Plaice, Smoothhound, Starry Smoothhound, Dogfish, Tope, Thornback Ray, Eel, Sole , Spurdog (Rare)

and feathering for Mackerel in summer.  Codling, Whiting and the occasional Pouting come on in winter,

and with our milder winters a lot of summer species remain catchable.

BEST BAITS

Basically it depends on the time of year, however the best advice is to ask the Skipper.

Good baits (Winter) Squid and Lug Worm (Summer) Peeler / Soft Crab, Squid, Rag Worm, Lug Worm and fresh Mackerel

Tope Fishing (Summer) Eel and fresh Mackerel

RECOMMENDED TACKLE

A boat caster and reel is fine, but you can have more fun with school bass on a light spinning outfit.

Rigs should incorporate a size 1/0 to 5/0 Aberdeen hook or Mustard Bass hooks and use a 4oz-6oz breakout weight.

On a TOPE fishing trip strong end rigs are a must, many fish can be lost if this fish is not respected.

HOW TO GET HERE

From the A127, take the B1013 towards Rochford, then turn right towards Great Stambridge.

Follow this road to its end and turn right towards Paglesham.

A left turn goes to Canewdon and then right towards Essex Marina.
